Chakra studies date back to ancient India, as early as 1500–500 BCE, with more detailed teachings emerging between the 6th and 9th centuries CE. Chakras are spinning energy centers aligned along the spine, each connected to specific organs, nervous system, emotional patterns, and states of consciousness.

There are seven primary chakras, beginning at the crown of the head and extending down to the root at the base of the spine. Each chakra resonates with a unique color and governs different emotional, physical, and energetic functions within the body. Together, they form a dynamic system that supports balance, vitality, and overall well-being.

When people speak of auras or energy fields surrounding the body, they are referring to this subtle energetic system that can be sensed or perceived. At our core, we are energetic beings. Modern science—particularly quantum physics—has begun exploring correlations between energy, consciousness, and physical matter, offering insight into what ancient healing traditions have long understood: balance within the energy system supports balance within the body.

Stress, trauma, and prolonged nervous system activation can disrupt the natural flow of energy, creating imbalances that may manifest as emotional or physical discomfort. Understanding and caring for your chakras can help restore harmony, support wellness, and deepen your connection with yourself.

Reiki works with the chakra system to support balance and relaxation, offering a gentle way to reconnect with the body’s natural flow of energy.
